Thanksgiving

Whoever may read this, if they have read my blog before, will probably expect a rhapsody of all things thanksgiving. Unfortunately, I didn’t really enjoy thanksgiving much this year. I am trying to figure out exactly what went wrong, and it’s hard to put my finger on it. While I am contemplating this, here are some interesting Thanksgiving facts. Thanksgiving, as a national holiday, started back in Lincoln’s presidency, and was actually on the last Thursday of November, but ole president Roosevelt changed it in order to extend the winter holiday shopping season (yay capitalism). I think like most problems, it was a combination of many factors. My older sister was nursing a horrible migraine and stayed home in bed. With Tim eating joining the festivities this year Ibecame painfully aware of my family’s obsession with Black Friday, and, I don’t know, today I was just more in the mood for some crunchy, bitter, winter, greens, instead of all things brown and starchy covered in gravy. The night before I had a semi-meltdown about my growing workload and money, a very unthankful attitude. What a grouchy old turkey am I.
